Blood donation drive in Paphos collects 61 units of blood
A volunteer blood donation drive took place in Paphos on October 22, 2026, organized by the Paphos District Administration, the Paphos Self-Government Organization (EOA), and the charity organization Anazo. The event saw 70 volunteers come forward to donate, resulting in the successful collection of 61 units of blood intended for patients in need of transfusions.
The initiative served as a commemorative event dedicated to the memory of young individuals who passed away prematurely, including Charalambos Leantzis, Andreas Thaddeus Miltiadou, Panagiotis Sink, Neophytos Tsangaras, and Michalis Alexandrou. Additionally, the drive was held in memory of Porphyris Charalambous, the uncle of the Paphos District Administration representative, who passed away the day prior. Deputy District Officer Froso Georgiou stated that the event aimed to transform the memory of these individuals into an act of social solidarity and service to the public.
Organizers highlighted the importance of collaboration between public services and charitable organizations to achieve significant social impact. The collected blood units will be distributed to assist medical patients requiring transfusions across the region.
