Greek authorities dismantle tax evasion ring at Pizza Fan chain
On the morning of Thursday, October 22, 2026, the Greek Organized Crime Division (DAOE) launched a major operation to dismantle a criminal organization involved in a massive tax evasion scheme. The investigation centers on the Pizza Fan chain, which operates approximately 140 locations across Greece. Authorities allege that the group manipulated cash registers to avoid reporting sales, leading to at least 25 million euros in unpaid value-added tax (VAT) since 2022.
During the operation, conducted in collaboration with the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) and the Forensic Investigation Division, police raided various properties and business locations. Nine individuals have been arrested, including the company’s owner, Konstantinos Antaras, and a senior executive. Officials seized over 500,000 euros in cash, along with luxury vehicles, jewelry, and numerous incriminating documents. The investigation is currently ongoing as authorities continue to assess the full extent of the financial irregularities and the organization's illicit operations.
