Cyprus returns to winter time on October 25
Cyprus will transition to winter time on Sunday, October 25, 2026, as the country concludes its daylight saving time period. In accordance with the legislative framework of the European Union, clocks will be set back one hour at 04:00, effectively moving the time back to 03:00. This annual adjustment is designed to better align daily activities with natural sunlight hours, potentially reducing the need for artificial lighting in workplaces and homes.
The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry confirmed the change, noting that the measure is governed by a decree published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on July 9, 2021. The switch is a synchronized practice observed across all European Union member states. Residents will gain one hour of sleep as the country reverts to the winter schedule. The return to daylight saving time is scheduled to take place on the last Sunday of March 2027.
