Emirates showcases new accessibility initiatives at AccessAbilities Expo
From October 19 to 21, 2026, Emirates participated in the AccessAbilities Expo held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group. The airline utilized the platform to demonstrate several innovative accessibility projects designed to improve the travel experience for passengers with disabilities.
Key features unveiled at the company's interactive booth included an immersive cabin familiarization experience for passengers with full or partial vision loss, an accessible lounge suite designed for individuals with limited mobility, and biometric boarding gates tailored to support passengers with accessibility requirements. These initiatives are part of a broader corporate strategy aimed at integrating inclusivity into every stage of the passenger journey, from booking to the final destination.
Mostafa Karam, Divisional Senior Vice President of Customer Affairs & Service Audit, stated that the airline’s goal is to minimize barriers and foster greater independence and dignity for all travelers. The exhibition served as a venue for showcasing these developmental concepts, with the airline continuing to collaborate with industry partners to refine these accessibility solutions for future implementation.
