Anorthosis appoints Barak Itzhaki as new head coach

Anorthosis Famagusta has officially appointed Barak Itzhaki as its new head coach, replacing Nestor El Maestro. The decision follows a dismal start to the current league season, where the team currently sits at the bottom of the table. In their opening six matches, Anorthosis managed to secure only one victory, suffering five defeats and accumulating a total of just three points.

The club's management had previously supported El Maestro, but opted for a change in leadership following a lack of improvement in team performance after the international break. The administration believes that Itzhaki meets the necessary criteria to stabilize the squad and reverse the team's downward trajectory.

Looking ahead, Barak Itzhaki is set to lead his first match this coming Saturday, when Anorthosis hosts Omonia Aradippou. The club hopes that this coaching transition will mark a fresh start and significantly boost both the team’s morale and its position in the league standings.
