Onisiforos Roushias reflects on his professional football career
Former professional footballer Onisiforos Roushias recently appeared on the show 'Bala sto halaro' to reflect on his career following his retirement from the sport. Roushias discussed his experiences in Cyprus and his early years playing in England, admitting that while he feels fulfilled, he reflects on the missed opportunities throughout his journey. He noted that he is currently adjusting to a new daily routine that offers more free time and is focused on enjoying his life post-retirement.
He specifically recalled his transition to Omonia, which was initiated after a strong performance in a Cyprus U-21 match against Romania. Toni Savevski scouted him during the game and immediately expressed interest. Roushias described his time at the club as productive, despite playing alongside high-scoring forwards. He also shared a poignant memory from his time at Omonia, recalling an elderly fan who donated his entire pension to support the club during its period of severe financial distress.
