Appellate trial scheduled in Ioanna Touni revenge porn case
The legal case regarding the unauthorized distribution of a private video involving Greek influencer Ioanna Touni has entered a new phase, with an appellate court date now scheduled for June 9, 2027. This follows a previous conviction on April 1, 2026, where two men were found guilty for their roles in the revenge porn incident, an issue that has persisted for nine years.
Both of the convicted men have filed appeals seeking more favorable criminal treatment. Additionally, the Thessaloniki Court of Appeals Prosecutor's Office has also filed an appeal, requesting a review of the initial sentences. Ioanna Touni’s lawyer, Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, commented on the upcoming proceedings during an appearance on the television program "Super Katerina" on October 23, 2026. He noted the possibility that if the defendants offer a sincere apology, his client might not insist on their imprisonment.
This legal battle marks a significant chapter in the ongoing efforts to address the unauthorized release of private content, with all parties now awaiting the June 2027 hearing to reach a final resolution.
