Business leaders discuss AI integration in Cyprus
On October 19, the 'AI in Practice: Changing the Future of Business' event took place at the Cultural Center of European University Cyprus. Organized by Panis.News in collaboration with GrantXpert Consulting and the university's Future Skills Hub, the conference aimed to guide Cypriot businesses in transitioning from experimental AI usage to creating tangible, sustainable business value.
The event gathered professionals, entrepreneurs, academics, and students to examine the organizational changes and skill investments required to maintain competitiveness. Key figures in attendance included Chief Scientist of Cyprus Demetris Skourides, who provided insights via a prerecorded interview, Commissioner of Communications Marios Pieri, and the High Commissioner of India to Cyprus, Manish Manish. Dr. Celia Hadjichristodoulou opened the session, emphasizing the practical challenges companies face when scaling AI, specifically focusing on identifying investment priorities and necessary workforce training.
Participants concluded that the primary challenge for local firms is not just the adoption of technology, but its strategic application to drive growth. The event emphasized that achieving measurable results requires a comprehensive rethinking of traditional business models and a commitment to continuous human capital development.
