Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture announces new publishing grant schemes
The Department of Contemporary Culture of the Cypriot Deputy Ministry of Culture has announced two distinct grant schemes for 2026 aimed at supporting cultural publications. The first program provides up to 80% of eligible costs with a ceiling of €10,000 per application, while the second, focusing on broader cultural editions, offers up to 70% of costs with a limit of €7,000 per project. Applications for the first scheme must be submitted by Friday, November 13, 2026, at 14:00.
The initiatives are designed to promote Cypriot literature, artistic creation, and historical heritage, both domestically and abroad. Eligible applicants include non-profit cultural organizations, provided the editions are printed in Cyprus by Cypriot publishers and have been in circulation for at least six months. The schemes specifically exclude purely informational, religious, digital, or photography-focused publications. The second initiative operates with an annual budget of €80,000.
These efforts aim to enhance cultural education, public access to research, and the international presence of local creators. By investing in these works, the Ministry seeks to ensure the documentation and preservation of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage for future generations, fostering a deeper understanding of the local literary and artistic landscape.
