Recent traffic accidents across Cyprus result in multiple injuries
Several traffic accidents occurred across Cyprus between October 25 and October 26, 2026. On Saturday night in Kissonerga, a 33-year-old female driver struck two pedestrians, a 54-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man, on Chrysoneras Avenue. The woman was hospitalized in the intensive care unit with multiple fractures and a head injury, while the man sustained minor injuries. The driver initially fled the scene but later surrendered to the police. Further investigations are underway.
On Sunday, a driver lost control of her vehicle in Agios Dometios, Nicosia, colliding with a parked car and overturning, which required fire service intervention for her extrication. Simultaneously, multiple collisions were reported on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, causing significant traffic congestion. On Monday morning, a three-vehicle collision occurred on the old Paphos-Limassol road near Timi, injuring four people, one of whom remains in serious condition. Authorities are investigating all incidents, and some drivers involved have been charged or require further questioning.
