Sabbianco Anorthosis faces AEK Athens in EHF European Cup return leg

Sabbianco Anorthosis is set to host AEK Athens on Sunday, October 25, at 20:15 in the Kition athletic center. The match serves as the second leg of the second round of the 2026-27 EHF European Cup. Anorthosis faces a significant challenge, as they must overcome a 16-goal deficit following a 37-21 defeat in the first leg played in Athens.

Despite the difficult odds, the Famagusta-based club aims to perform at its best and compete until the final whistle. This match marks the final appearance of a Cypriot team in European handball competitions for the 2026-2027 season. The club's participation completes a six-team representation from Cyprus, following the previous appearances of Parnassos and Omonia 29M in the men's category, as well as E.N. Athienou, APOEL KN Agias Trimithias, and Mavrommatis Agiou Pavlou in the women's category.
