Eleven people injured in shooting near Florida A&M University
On the evening of Saturday, October 24, 2026, a shooting incident occurred near the campus of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida, shortly after a football game at the Bragg Memorial Stadium. According to Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell, twelve individuals were harmed in total. Eleven people sustained gunshot wounds, while an additional person was injured while attempting to flee the scene. Among the victims, six are minors—including an 11-year-old child—and six are adults, with at least one university student identified among those hit.
Authorities reported that at least three victims suffered serious injuries, with one currently in critical condition, while eight others are listed in stable condition. Preliminary investigations suggest the violence stemmed from a dispute between two or three individuals, rather than being a random attack. While the shooting occurred near the university, it remains unclear whether the incident is directly linked to the prior athletic event. Law enforcement is currently conducting an active investigation to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators involved in the altercation.
