Anagennisi Deryneias, Anorthosis and Pafiakos advance to League Cup semifinals

Anagennisi Deryneias, Anorthosis Famagusta, and Kuutio Homes Pafiakos have secured their spots in the next phase of the inaugural men's "Giorgos Dimitriou" League Cup following quarterfinal victories held on October 25, 2026.

Anagennisi Deryneias defeated hosts Foinikas Pylas with a clean 3-0 sweep (21-25, 16-25, 18-25). This match was particularly notable as it was the first high-level fixture hosted by Foinikas Pylas since their return to the top flight after a 30-year absence, with the tournament itself dedicated to the memory of the club's late president. Elsewhere, Anorthosis staged a comeback at the Themistokleio arena, overcoming a first-set loss to defeat Omonia 3-1 (26-28, 27-25, 25-23, 25-22). In the final match of the round, Kuutio Homes Pafiakos maintained control to record a 3-0 victory against NCMA Nea Salamina (25-21, 25-23, 25-20).

These results confirm the three teams as successful contenders in the newly established competition. The tournament serves as a tribute to the late Giorgos Dimitriou, honoring his significant contributions to Cypriot volleyball.
