Cyprus to experience significant weather deterioration starting Wednesday
Cyprus is currently under the influence of a weak low-pressure system which is bringing increased cloud cover, light rain, and occasional dust to the atmosphere. While temperatures remain relatively high for the season, reaching up to 29°C in inland and coastal areas, conditions are set to shift significantly in the coming days as a new atmospheric disturbance moves from the Balkans and Greece toward the island.
The Department of Meteorology, represented by spokesperson Andreas Chrysanthou, has warned that Wednesday and especially Thursday will be the most critical days. The forecast includes frequent rain and isolated thunderstorms, with phenomena potentially becoming intense or prolonged on Thursday. As a result of this incoming weather pattern, temperatures are expected to drop by 5 to 6 degrees Celsius, falling below the seasonal average by the end of the week.
Authorities are monitoring the situation and have indicated that weather warnings may be issued for the public to ensure safety during the period of instability, which is expected to last through the weekend.
