Omonia faces AEK in Larnaca for the seventh round of the Cyprus League

Omonia and AEK Larnaca are set to compete on October 26, 2026, at the AEK Arena for the seventh round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan. Omonia, managed by Henning Berg, enters the match following a domestic draw against Olympiacos and a recent Europa League defeat to Benfica. Omonia aims to secure a victory to climb to the top of the league standings, where they would join AEL and Apollon on 15 points. Goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski, who had started the previous six league matches, was replaced in the starting lineup by Fabiano for this fixture.

Omonia faces significant roster challenges, with defender Coulibaly sidelined by injury and Andreas Christou ruled out due to a metatarsal fracture sustained during the Benfica match. On the other side, AEK manager Ruben Selles is looking for a convincing response from his team following internal criticism after their recent Cup performance. AEK's lineup includes players like Paliari, Saborit, and Ledes, while missing Andereggen, Amin, and Ivanovic. Historically, Henning Berg has held a strong record against AEK across his previous tenures in Cyprus, though this match remains a high-stakes test for both sides seeking to secure the top position in the league table.
