Omonia and AEK Larnaca prepare for critical Cyprus League clash

Omonia and AEK Larnaca face off today, October 26, 2026, at 19:00 at the AEK Arena in Larnaca for the seventh round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan. Omonia, currently managed by Henning Berg, enters the match looking to recover after a draw against Olympiacos and a Europa League loss to Benfica. A win would elevate Omonia to the top of the league standings with 15 points, tied with AEL and Apollon. Omonia goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski noted that the result will likely depend on fine details, emphasizing that his team aims to impose its play style.

AEK Larnaca is also seeking a victory to secure sole possession of first place in the league table. Coach Ruben Selles is tasked with leading a team that has faced scrutiny from fans following recent performances, notably in the Cyprus Cup. For this fixture, Omonia will be without the injured Coulibaly, as well as Akinola and Christou, while AEK will be missing Adereggen, Amin, and Ivanovic. Historically, the AEK Arena has not been a prohibitive venue for Omonia, as the team has recorded five wins, five draws, and only one defeat in their last eleven meetings across all competitions.
