Karmiotissa suffers heavy 5-0 defeat to Apollon

On October 25, 2026, Karmiotissa faced a crushing 5-0 defeat against Apollon during the 7th round of the Cyprus League. The match, held at the Stelios Kyriakides stadium, saw Karmiotissa struggle to contain the opposition, with goalkeeper Giannakopoulos preventing an even larger margin of defeat.

Following the match, Karmiotissa manager Alexis Garpozis admitted that his team was inferior in all aspects of play. He noted that the result left little to discuss and emphasized the urgent need for the squad to regain composure and improve their performance moving forward.

This loss marks a significant decline in form for Karmiotissa, which had previously secured three consecutive draws against Omonia 29th May, Omonia Aradippou, and Aris. However, the team has since experienced a downward trend with three straight defeats against Omonia, Krasava ENY, and now Apollon. Garpozis is now under pressure to identify tactical solutions to halt this negative streak and stabilize the team's position in the championship.
