Weather in Cyprus to cool down with rain expected this week
The Cyprus Meteorological Service forecasts a gradual deterioration of weather conditions across the island starting the week of October 26, 2026. While Monday will feature variable cloudiness and dust, conditions will shift mid-week as temperatures begin to fall below seasonal norms. Meteorologist Tasos Ierodiakonou notes that daytime temperatures will start in the range of +28 to +30°C inland and +26 to +28°C on the coast, before cooling significantly.
On Wednesday, October 28, the day of the Ohi Day holiday, the island will experience increased cloud cover with localized rain and isolated thunderstorms. The most significant rainfall is anticipated on Thursday, October 29, when up to 30 mm of precipitation is expected. By this time, temperatures are predicted to drop further, with mountain areas like Olympus potentially seeing readings around +16°C. Current humidity levels vary by region, ranging from 30% to 100% depending on the time of day and geography.
No extreme wind speeds are currently forecast, and sea temperatures remain around +24 to +25°C. Residents are advised to prepare for increasingly unsettled weather as the week progresses, marking the end of the recent warm period.
