Eurostat reports high self-perceived health levels among Cypriot youth
Data published on Monday by Eurostat shows that 94% of young people aged 16 to 29 in Cyprus rated their health as good or very good in 2025. This figure significantly exceeds the European Union average of 89.7% for the same age group. In contrast, 75% of the total Cypriot population aged 16 and over reported good health, compared to an EU-wide average of 67.9%.
Gender disparities were observed, as 95.4% of young women in Cyprus reported positive health compared to 92.6% of young men. This trend is the inverse of the EU average, where 90.9% of men and 88.4% of women reported good health. Additionally, socioeconomic factors played a role, with 90.7% of youth in the lowest income households reporting good health, rising to 96.2% for those in the highest income brackets.
These statistics provide a demographic overview of perceived well-being across the bloc, highlighting how national and social factors correlate with personal health assessment among the youth population.
