Paphos expects steady winter tourism driven by European flight connectivity
Paphos anticipates a satisfactory flow of tourists throughout the upcoming winter season, supported by robust demand reported by major European tour operators. According to local tourism authorities, visitors from the United Kingdom and central European nations are expected to keep the district's hotel industry operational at a basic level until the peak holiday spikes during Christmas and the spring months of March and April.
A significant factor in this trend is the growing importance of visitors from Poland, Hungary, and Austria, as well as emerging interest from France and Italy. Unlike seasonal summer destinations, these markets provide a year-round steady stream of arrivals to the Paphos region. Tourism officials attribute this success largely to the extensive flight programs operated by the low-cost carrier Ryanair, which connects Paphos to dozens of airports across these central European regions throughout the entire year.
The current outlook remains optimistic, with stakeholders expecting this consistent influx to sustain the local industry until the major travel seasons resume in spring 2027.
