Cyprus Tax Department extends deadline for 2025 personal income tax returns
The Cyprus Tax Department has officially extended the deadline for individuals to submit their 2025 income tax returns without accounts and pay any associated tax liabilities. While the original cutoff date was set for October 31, 2026, the Commissioner of Taxation has granted an extension until November 30, 2026. This measure ensures that taxpayers who complete their submissions and settle all dues by this new date will not be subject to any interest or financial penalties.
The department’s decision is based on the provisions of the Assessment and Collection of Taxes Law (No. 4/1978). Authorities emphasize that this grace period is specifically for returns that do not require supplementary accounts.
Starting November 1, 2026, the tax authority is initiating a technical transition to the new 'Tax For All' (TFA) digital system. Consequently, the department has issued a warning that after this date, modifying a tax return’s status from 'Final Submission' to 'Temporary Receipt' may no longer be feasible. Taxpayers are advised to exercise caution during the filing process, as the technical migration may limit their ability to make corrections once the system update is underway.
