Scheduled road maintenance works on major highways in Cyprus
The Cyprus Department of Public Works has announced a series of scheduled maintenance projects across several major highways. These initiatives involve irrigation works, drainage grate cleaning, and safety barrier replacements, which will result in temporary traffic adjustments over the coming days.
From October 29 to November 6, 2026, excluding weekends, the Forestry Department will conduct irrigation work on the Limassol-Paphos (A6) highway toward Paphos between 08:30 and 14:30. During this period, the fast lane will be closed in 3-kilometer segments from Petra tou Romiou to the Konia terminal interchange, with traffic diverted to the slow lane. Additionally, on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 07:00 to 15:00, crews will clean stormwater drainage grates on the Limassol-Nicosia highway between the Skarinou and Germasogeia junctions. This work will affect the emergency lane (shoulder) in 200-meter segments, though traffic will continue to flow normally on the main travel lanes.
