Cyprus ministry sets deadline for Akamas land subsidies
The Cypriot Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment has announced that the application period for land subsidies in the Akamas region will conclude on November 15, 2026. The process, which commenced on October 1, 2026, allows both individuals and companies to apply for hectare-based financial support via the online portal www.support-akamas.com.
This measure serves as a compensatory initiative linked to the Akamas Local Plan, offering up to 6,600 euros per beneficiary annually. The program aims to reward landowners who maintain their plots in a natural state, thereby contributing to the protection of the region's biodiversity and landscape. Participation is contingent upon submitting a new application each year, and the ministry has strictly stated that no submissions will be accepted after the deadline.
The initiative is backed by a total budget of 25 million euros allocated for the 2024-2028 period. Landowners are encouraged to complete their filings promptly to ensure eligibility for the current year's support.
