Oil prices hold at $115 as European natural gas prices decline
On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, global energy markets reflected shifting geopolitical tensions and supply concerns. Brent crude oil prices remained at $115.89 per barrel, showing a marginal increase of 0.08%, following a rise to $117 on the previous day. This volatility is attributed to renewed diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the conflict between the United States and Iran. Simultaneously, U.S. WTI crude saw a negligible increase of 0.01%, reaching $101.77 per barrel.
European natural gas prices, specifically the TTF benchmark for November delivery, declined by 0.25% to €96.26 per megawatt-hour. This follows a recent peak at €97, which marked the highest level in four years. Despite the slight dip, energy security remains a concern as European gas terminal storage levels are currently at 74.9%, noticeably lower than the 85% to 90% range typically recorded ahead of the winter season in previous years.
