Cyprus health insurance organization updates on-call doctor contact details for October 2026

The Health Insurance Organisation (HIO) has released updated contact information for on-call Personal Doctors operating under Cyprus’ General Healthcare System (GeSY) for the weekends of October 10–11, 17–18, and 24–25, as well as for the public holiday on October 28, 2026. These medical services are available specifically to GeSY beneficiaries, including both adults and children, who require urgent care during non-standard hours.

Operating hours for these on-call services are set from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on all listed weekends and public holidays. To facilitate access, dedicated telephone centers will commence operations 30 minutes prior to the opening of the medical offices. The HIO explicitly stated that these services are intended for acute health issues, such as sudden and severe pain, high fever with associated symptoms, or the rapid onset of worrying health conditions. They are not to be used for the management of chronic conditions that could otherwise be handled through scheduled appointments or routine repeat prescriptions.

Citizens are advised that contact details for on-call doctors in each district will be updated periodically. Up-to-date information is available on the official GeSY website at www.gesy.org.cy and through the organisation's official social media channels, ensuring beneficiaries always have access to current contact paths.
