Pafos FC faces critical period amid attacking struggles

Pafos FC is currently undergoing a challenging period, marked by a goal-scoring drought that has hindered the team's progress in the Cypriot championship. After seven matches, the team has managed to score only seven goals, which stands as its worst offensive performance in the last seven years. Despite strong defensive work—conceding only three goals—the team has now gone four matches without a win, including consecutive goalless draws against APOEL and Nea Salamina. These results have left the team with 12 points, placing them in fifth position.

Manager Ricardo Sa Pinto remains under pressure to stabilize the squad, though the club leadership has expressed continued trust in his tenure, citing his success in winning the Cup and securing European qualification earlier this year. The team plans to file a formal complaint with the Cyprus Football Association regarding a disputed penalty decision involving player Mammadov during the match against Nea Salamina. Looking ahead, the squad is preparing for high-stakes fixtures, starting with a derby against Apollon on October 31 and an away European Conference League match against Twente on November 5. Defender Domenikos Quina will be sidelined for the match against Omonia 29M to serve a card-related suspension.
