65-year-old man in critical condition following traffic accident in Paphos

A 65-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition early Wednesday morning following a single-vehicle accident on the Polis Chrysochous-Argaka road in the Paphos district. According to local police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. when the driver lost control of his car. The vehicle subsequently struck a tree and came to a halt after impacting a safety barrier.

Emergency services initially transported the victim to the Polis Chrysochous Hospital accident and emergency department. Due to the severity of his injuries, including multiple traumas and fractures, he was later transferred to the Paphos General Hospital. The patient has since been intubated and admitted to the intensive care unit, where he remains in serious condition.

The Polis Chrysochous police station has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are currently reviewing the factors that led to the vehicle exiting the road as part of their ongoing efforts to determine the exact cause of the collision.
