Omonia faces AEL in a pivotal league match

Omonia Nicosia prepares to host AEL Limassol tonight, October 31, 2026, at 19:00, in an 8th round Cyprus League match at the GSP Stadium. Omonia enters the encounter following a difficult spell, having failed to secure a victory in its last three official matches across domestic and European competitions, including a recent league loss to AEK. The team currently trails the league leaders by four points, making this match crucial for returning to a winning track.

Manager Henning Berg has confirmed the return of Senou Coulibaly and David Akintola to the squad, providing a significant boost to his defensive and offensive options, while Nego remains sidelined due to injury. Berg has historically enjoyed strong results against AEL, recording 12 wins, three draws, and only one defeat across his career in Cyprus. Despite the recent pressure, supporters are expected to turn out in high numbers, with nearly 10,000 fans projected to attend at GSP Stadium to support the team’s push for the three points.
