Police disperse mass brawl in Limassol

A mass brawl involving approximately 30 individuals occurred at midday on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in the Ayios Antonios district of Limassol, specifically in the area known as Tessera Fanaria (Four Lanterns). Police were dispatched to the scene following reports of a confrontation between two rival groups of Turkish Cypriots who had allegedly arranged the meeting due to personal disputes.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers found that the fighting continued despite their presence. To restore order and disperse the crowds, officers were forced to utilize crowd-control spray. During the altercation, one individual sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment; he was subsequently discharged after receiving first aid.

The incident caused significant public disturbance. The Limassol Central Police Station has launched an ongoing investigation into the matter to clarify the circumstances surrounding the clash. No further incidents have been reported in the area following the police intervention.
