Qatar presents new proposal to end conflict between Iran and US-Israel coalition
Qatari mediators presented a new draft agreement to Tehran on Sunday aimed at ending the ongoing war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran in February 2026. The proposed plan outlines a seven-day timeline designed to address the security concerns of both Washington and Tehran through a series of incremental, confidence-building steps. According to an official briefed on the negotiations, Tehran is expected to provide a formal response to the proposal by the end of the current week.
Under the terms of the draft, if accepted, the implementation phase could commence as early as next week. Several nations are expected to serve as guarantors of the agreement to ensure stability. The conflict, which began in February, has caused significant disruptions to global shipping and oil supplies while expanding into various regions across the Middle East. Qatar and Pakistan are currently serving as the primary mediators in this diplomatic effort to de-escalate the hostilities.
