AEL spokesperson criticizes KOP judicial committee procedures
Nikolas Leventis, the press spokesperson for AEL, has publicly denounced the Cyprus Football Association (KOP) Judicial Committee, labeling their recent actions as one of the greatest scandals in the organization's history. The club is protesting the committee's decision to adjudicate cases before the official deadline for submitting defense arguments had expired, arguing that this practice undermines equal treatment and disrupts the competitive schedule. AEL has officially submitted a letter to the association demanding an explanation for why standard protocols were bypassed.
Furthermore, the club has expressed frustration regarding the case of the player Cafu. Despite 24 days having passed, AEL reports that they have yet to receive the written reasoning behind the committee's decision. Leventis characterized the incident as an institutional failure that threatens the integrity of the league, while calling on other clubs to take a stand against such irregularities.
In addition to these administrative issues, AEL is addressing personnel challenges, as defender Denswil will be sidelined for one month due to a second-degree muscle tear. Meanwhile, Almedia has returned to training, providing a boost for the team ahead of their upcoming match against Omonia at the GSP Stadium.
