Cypriot businesses urged to improve data management before AI adoption

On October 8, the first ClickUp event in Cyprus took place, bringing together business leaders and technology experts to discuss the integration of artificial intelligence into local operations. Hosted in Limassol by essere.ai, the official and certified partner of the American software firm ClickUp, the event aimed to address the practical challenges businesses face when adopting new technologies.

Kyriaki Parmakki, co-founder and CEO of essere.ai, emphasized that companies must prioritize data organization, clear operational rules, and employee training before attempting to deploy AI tools. Parmakki noted a significant discrepancy between individual usage and corporate adoption of the technology. While 44% of people in Cyprus utilized generative AI in 2025—exceeding the EU average of 33%—only 9% of Cypriot companies have integrated AI into their professional processes, which remains below the corresponding EU average.

The event served as a platform for live demonstrations and strategic discussions on how to bridge this gap. According to industry experts, establishing robust digital foundations is a prerequisite for achieving measurable success and efficiency when implementing AI within the Cypriot market.
