National Solidarity Fund budget for 2026 approved
The Parliament of Cyprus unanimously approved the 2026 budget for the National Solidarity Fund on October 29, 2026. The budget is surplus-oriented, projecting total revenues of 50 million euros, primarily sourced from government subsidies, against planned expenditures of 28,725,199 euros. These funds are designated for social welfare initiatives, expert consulting services, and administrative operations. As of January 1, 2026, the fund held cash reserves totaling 189,180,218 euros.
A significant portion of the allocated expenditure, approximately 10 million euros, is earmarked for the fulfillment of remaining payments under the 2025 Partial Compensation Plan. These payments target eligible natural persons who have verified their details, those who filed appeals according to scheme regulations, and beneficiaries who experienced technical issues during previous payment cycles. The budget ensures the financial stability required to manage these ongoing welfare obligations and confirms the government's commitment to finalizing the outstanding components of the relief plan.
