Changes to parliamentary committee memberships announced in Cyprus
On October 29, 2026, the President of the Cypriot Parliament, Annita Demetriou, announced official changes to the composition of several parliamentary committees during the plenary session. The reshuffle was initiated following requests from the Democratic Party (DIKO) and the Alma Movement.
Under the new appointments, Nikolas Papadopoulos is departing the Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources to join the Committee on Human Rights and Equal Opportunities for Men and Women, while Andreas Apostolou is leaving the Committee on Human Rights to join the Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources. Furthermore, upon the request of the Alma Movement, Michalis Paraskevas has been removed from the Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources and assigned to the Committee on the Environment. Concurrently, Litsa Drousiotou is moving from the Committee on the Environment to the Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources.
These adjustments, finalized by the Selection Committee, reflect the political shifts requested by the involved parliamentary groups. The changes take effect immediately following the announcement at the parliamentary plenary session.
