Let’s Do It! Cyprus 2026 campaign concludes with national clean-up event
The nationwide environmental initiative "Let’s Do It! Cyprus 2026" will hold its closing ceremony on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Athalassa Forest Park in Nicosia. The event, which begins at 9:30 a.m., invites citizens, students, businesses, and public officials to participate in a final organized cleaning effort. Participants will be provided with free shirts, gloves, and waste bags, and no prior registration or volunteering experience is required. The meeting point is set near the park’s cafeteria, adjacent to the Karaiskakio Foundation.
This campaign is part of the global "Let’s Do It! World" movement and has been active in Cyprus since 2012. According to Environment Commissioner Elias Myrianthous, the initiative has successfully mobilized over 350,000 participants since its inception, emphasizing the need for better waste management and sustainable consumption. In addition to the main closing event, localized actions have already taken place, including a clean-up held on October 30, 2026, in the municipalities of Polis Chrysochous and Argaka, involving local staff, teachers, and students. The campaign remains a key effort in fostering environmental consciousness and tackling the negative impacts of littering and inadequate waste disposal across the country.
