Cyprus approves de minimis aid scheme for international trade shows
On October 29, 2026, the Cypriot Council of Ministers officially approved a new de minimis aid scheme designed to support local businesses in participating in international trade exhibitions. The program aims to boost the national economy by providing targeted financial assistance to enterprises operating in the service and technology sectors.
Under this initiative, eligible companies can receive a maximum of 13,450 euros per beneficiary per exhibition. The funding is intended to cover essential costs, including rental fees for exhibition space, stand construction and equipment, participation fees, utility costs such as water and electricity, and interpretation services. The scheme covers participation in five major international events, with specific focus on technology and innovation, investment fund management, aircraft maintenance, and shipping. One notable event mentioned is the GITEX AI Serbia 2027 exhibition.
This policy reflects the Ministry of Commerce's broader strategy to enhance the international presence of Cypriot firms by facilitating their attendance at global trade platforms under a national pavilion. Eligible businesses are now invited to submit applications in accordance with the established regulatory criteria to receive these state subsidies.
