Worker in critical condition following fall at a factory in Larnaca

A 31-year-old man is in critical condition at Nicosia General Hospital following a severe workplace accident on Thursday, October 29, 2026. The man was performing duties at a factory in the Larnaca district when he fell to the ground from a height of approximately five metres. Police were notified of the incident at around 5:40 p.m. after the victim had been initially transported to the Larnaca General Hospital emergency department before being transferred to Nicosia.

Following the incident, officials from the Kiti Police Station and the Department of Labour Inspection arrived at the factory to examine the circumstances surrounding the fall. As a direct consequence of the accident and the ongoing investigation, the Department of Labour Inspection has issued a formal notice prohibiting operations at the factory until further notice. Authorities, including local police and labour inspectors, are currently continuing their investigations into the incident to determine the exact cause of the fall and to ensure safety compliance.
