31-year-old man in critical condition after workplace accident in Larnaca

A 31-year-old man is in critical condition at Nicosia General Hospital following a severe workplace accident that occurred on October 29, 2026, in the Larnaca district. Authorities were notified around 5:40 p.m. that the man had been admitted to the emergency department of Larnaca General Hospital after falling from a height of approximately five meters at a factory.

Following the incident, members of the Kiti Police Station and officials from the Department of Labor Inspection arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. As a direct consequence of the accident and current safety concerns, the Department of Labor Inspection has issued an immediate work prohibition notice for the factory involved. The injured man was subsequently transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital due to the severity of his condition.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fall are ongoing. The Kiti Police Station, in coordination with the Department of Labor Inspection, continues to examine the site to determine the cause of the accident and ensure regulatory compliance.
