Kuutio Homes Pafiakos eliminated from CEV Champions League
Kuutio Homes Pafiakos, the champions of Cyprus, were eliminated from the CEV Champions League following a 3-1 set defeat to Mladost Zagreb in the second leg of the first qualifying round. The match took place on October 29 at the Bojan Stranic sports hall in Zagreb, Croatia. Despite a promising start where the Cypriot team won the first set, they could not maintain their momentum, eventually succumbing to the Croatian side. Having also lost the home leg in Paphos by a 1-3 scoreline, the aggregate defeat confirms their exit from Europe's premier club competition.
Following this exit, the team led by coach Giorgos Platritis will continue its European campaign in the CEV Cup. Pafiakos is set to compete in the round of 32 against the Belgian team Knack Roeselare. The first leg of this new fixture is scheduled to be held in Cyprus in early December, with the return match taking place in Belgium. The coaching staff, including players like Odysseas Savvidis and Mansilla, is now shifting focus to prepare for this upcoming challenge in the second-tier continental tournament.
