Eurobank and Alpha Bank report strong nine-month profits for 2026
Eurobank and Alpha Bank have announced strong financial results for the first nine months of 2026, characterized by significant profit growth and expanded market reach. Eurobank reported adjusted net profits of 1.209 billion euros, a 14.3% annual increase, with 356 million euros attributed to its operations in Cyprus. Following this performance, the bank announced an interim dividend of 5.99 cents per share, payable on November 26. Meanwhile, Alpha Bank achieved adjusted net profits of 779 million euros, marking a 14.2% annual rise, supported by a 13.1% increase in its performing loan portfolio and significant growth in customer funds.
Despite the positive outlook, Morningstar DBRS has flagged potential risks for Eurobank in the fourth quarter of 2026. The ratings agency suggests that loans related to the Swiss franc (CHF) conversion law may be reclassified as unlikely to pay, potentially increasing the non-performing loan ratio by 40 basis points. Both banks highlight a focus on sustained organic growth, with Alpha Bank noting a strong increase in net interest income and fee income. Further financial developments are expected as the institutions navigate these economic conditions and finalize year-end targets.
