Eurobank reports strong nine-month 2026 earnings
Eurobank Group reported significant financial growth for the first nine months of 2026, with adjusted net profits rising by 14.3% year-on-year to 1.209 billion euros, and total net profits after taxes reaching 1.161 billion euros, an increase of 12.4%. International operations, particularly in Cyprus, contributed significantly, accounting for 46% of adjusted profits according to Morningstar DBRS. Following these results, the bank announced an interim dividend of 5.99 cents per share, payable on November 26, 2026.
Despite the strong performance, credit rating agency Morningstar DBRS warned of a potential rise in Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) during the fourth quarter of 2026. This is linked to the reclassification of Swiss franc (CHF) denominated loans, which could add approximately 40 basis points to the NPL ratio and reduce coverage by 10 percentage points. Net interest income for the period grew by 8.7% annually, driven by an expanding loan portfolio.
The bank attributes its success to organic growth and the integration of Eurolife, which has strengthened its presence in insurance and wealth management. Management expects to meet or exceed its full-year targets, while continuing to monitor the impact of legal developments regarding currency-linked loans.
