Karmiotissa secures first league victory against Olympiakos

Karmiotissa defeated Olympiakos with a score of 1-0 on October 30, 2026, during the 8th round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan. The match, held at Stelios Kyriakides Stadium, saw Ali Reynolds score the decisive goal in the 9th minute. This result marked Karmiotissa's first victory of the season, helping them climb out of the bottom of the league standings to reach 6 points. Olympiakos, conversely, remains the only team in the championship without a win this season.

Leading up to the match, Karmiotissa sought to recover from a heavy 0-5 defeat against Apollon, while manager Alexis Garpozis welcomed back players like Savvidis, Martinov, and Cesar. Despite Olympiakos recording 15 attempts on goal, including a notable shot by Prokop that hit the crossbar in the 30th minute, goalkeeper Giannakopoulos maintained a clean sheet for the home side. The visiting team, managed by George Kostis, struggled to convert their chances into points throughout the encounter.

Following this outcome, Karmiotissa will face AEK in the 9th round of the league, while Olympiakos is scheduled to host Apollon.
