Road maintenance and infrastructure works scheduled across major Cyprus motorways
The Cyprus Department of Public Works has announced a series of infrastructure and maintenance projects impacting motorways across the country. From October 29 to November 6, 2026, irrigation works by the Forestry Department will affect the Limassol-Paphos (A6) motorway towards Paphos, closing the fast lane in 3km segments between Petra tou Romiou and Konia. Additionally, maintenance of storm drains on the Limassol-Nicosia motorway is scheduled for October 31, and horizontal marking works will occur on the same route through November 26, primarily during night hours.
Further works include the construction of a third lane on Strovolos Avenue starting November 2, 2026, until January 29, 2027, and pavement maintenance on the Paphos-Limassol (A6) route near Agia Varvara and Anarita from November 2 to November 6, 2026. During these periods, traffic will be diverted or restricted to remaining lanes. These activities are part of a broader infrastructure upgrade plan, which also includes future government efforts to expand the Limassol motorway to six lanes to reduce congestion and improve road safety.
