Cyprus weather forecast: shift toward showers and cooling temperatures
Cyprus is experiencing a period of weak low pressure, leading to changing weather conditions after a historically wet October. Meteorological data released at the end of October indicated that rainfall reached 255% of normal levels, with totals hitting 83.3 millimeters compared to the average of 32.7 millimeters. Areas like Polis Chrysochous recorded up to 359% of the expected precipitation for the period.
As the region transitions into November, local weather reports indicate mostly cloudy skies with isolated rains. Starting Tuesday, November 3rd, and continuing through Thursday, meteorologists expect more frequent, localized showers and isolated thunderstorms, particularly affecting mountainous regions, inland areas, and northern parts of the island.
Following these changes, temperatures are expected to see a gradual decline, eventually falling slightly below average climatological values. While daily highs currently reach approximately 26 degrees Celsius in inland and coastal areas, with nighttime lows dropping to around 9 degrees in the mountains, the forecast warns of cooler patterns ahead. Authorities advise citizens to monitor the shifting weather as the island moves toward more typical autumn rain cycles.
