Fire at restaurant in Limassol Old Port

A fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday, October 31, 2026, at a restaurant located in the Old Port of Limassol. The Limassol Fire Department received notice of the incident at 04:55, reporting that flames had ignited in the outdoor seating area of the establishment.

The fire, which originated in restaurant seating equipment, caused damage to the venue's glass shopfront and portions of the wooden flooring. Before the two dispatched fire service vehicles arrived at the scene, a security guard managed to successfully extinguish the flames using a hose connected to the building's fixed firefighting system. Firefighters conducted an inspection of the site to ensure the blaze was fully suppressed.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. While most reports place the incident on Saturday morning, one source, OmegaLive, initially mentioned Friday morning, though this is contradicted by the consensus of other reports stating the event occurred at 04:55 on Saturday.
