Greek labor minister addresses Pizza Fan employment status and regulatory oversight
Greek Minister of Labor Niki Kerameus announced on October 31, 2026, that salary payments are currently being processed for employees of the chain Pizza Fan. Speaking on the Skai television program "Kalimera," the minister clarified that there is no government or administrative order requiring the business to cease operations, nor has the company itself announced a closure. Consequently, all employment contracts remain in full effect, and the employer is legally obligated to continue paying wages and insurance contributions.
Regarding regulatory compliance, Minister Kerameus revealed that the company has been subject to 165 inspections over the past two years, resulting in fines exceeding 730,000 euros. The primary violations identified during these audits pertain to cases of undeclared or under-declared work. To address the ongoing labor issues, a meeting between the minister, employee representatives, and employer representatives is scheduled for Tuesday to discuss the future of the company's operations.
