Delivery worker injured in youth attack in Limassol
A 22-year-old food delivery worker was injured during an unprovoked attack in Limassol on the evening of Friday, October 30, 2026. While riding his motorcycle along Omonia Avenue at approximately 7:30 p.m., the victim was targeted by a group of five to six youths who allegedly threw stones at him. The impact caused the victim to suffer a broken nasal bone, a laceration to the head, and damage to his helmet and glasses. He subsequently received 11 stitches for his wounds at the Limassol General Hospital before being discharged.
The victim reported the incident to the police, and the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (TAE) has launched an investigation. Video footage of the incident has since circulated on social media, showing the group lying in wait for delivery drivers. This attack follows an increasing trend of violence against delivery workers in the city. While authorities suspect many of these acts are committed by youths for entertainment rather than theft, they are reportedly considering undercover operations to apprehend the perpetrators. Law enforcement is currently examining the scene and continues to seek those responsible for the assault.
