Cyprus youth basketball leagues conclude initial phases and continue tournament action
The first phase of the Allwyn Men’s U18 championship has concluded, determining the composition of the A1, A2A, and A2B categories for the next stage. Atlas, AEK, Chalkanor Suns, and Keravnos have secured spots in the A1 category, while others await playoff results to finalize the remaining four positions. Teams finishing 2nd and 3rd in their respective groups will participate in upcoming playoff matches to complete the A1 and A2A rosters, following specific rules that prevent opponents from the same initial groups from being paired against each other.
Simultaneously, intense action continues across various age categories in the Allwyn championships. In the Women’s U18 league, Keravnos remains undefeated after a 72-43 victory against Aris. In the Women’s and Men’s U14 and U16 divisions, several teams such as English School Lions, Anagenisi Yermasoyias, and AEK Larnacas continue their dominant runs, maintaining undefeated records in their respective groups as the 5th matchday concludes. Additionally, the Women’s Championship saw notable performances, including Anagenisi’s 98-51 victory over the opposition, marked by a strong return for international player Mihalko, and AEL’s undefeated streak continuing with an 81-48 win over Achilleas Kaimakliou. Upcoming fixtures for the U18 Women’s league are scheduled for November 7th.
