Omega Channel secures Formula 1 broadcasting rights and covers the Mexico City Grand Prix
Omega Channel has officially secured the exclusive free-to-air broadcasting rights for Formula 1 in Cyprus for the three-year period between 2026 and 2028. This partnership commenced with live coverage of the 19th race of the season, the Mexico City Grand Prix, which took place on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
The race in Mexico City represents a pivotal moment in the 2026 championship, as Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli approaches his first career world title. To secure the championship during this event, Antonelli was required to finish in the top nine positions of the 71-lap race. The coverage of the event was set to begin with the lights going out at 22:00 Cyprus time.
Beyond the primary F1 broadcast, Omega Channel and various subscription platforms, including Cytavision and Novasports, have provided comprehensive sports coverage throughout the weekend of October 31 to November 1, featuring various football matches and tennis tournaments.
