Aradippou hosts awareness walk for breast cancer
On Saturday, November 1, 2026, the Municipality of Aradippou and the Welfare Committee organized a march to raise awareness for breast cancer under the theme "For every woman, for every life!". Hundreds of citizens participated in the event, walking from the Hero's Monument to the Apostle Luke Square, which was decorated with pink balloons to symbolize solidarity with patients.
A central feature of the event was a video presentation showcasing the personal testimonials of five women: Christina Alampriti, Zina Alampriti, Katerina Olympiou, Katerina Giannaki, and Rodoula Papanikolaou Markou. This marked their first public account of their experiences with the disease, highlighting the emotional challenges and the importance of community support. The event also included speeches by medical professionals, including oncologist Yola Markou and breast surgeon Evros Kitiris, alongside patient advocate Marios, who addressed the gathered crowd regarding medical and social aspects of breast cancer care.
The march served as a platform for disseminating information on prevention and early detection while fostering communal support for those currently battling the disease.
